Sometimes the sun comes out here, and when it does everything looks fresh and new. So I grabbed my camera the other day and snapped photos of our neighborhood in sun and shadows.

It’s been a city of a chaos here in the Netherlands, since the snow started coming down yesterday morning. My 20 minute train commute turned into a 3.5 hour struggle to get home using any means of transportation possible.

Luckily we’re safely inside for the weekend and, of course, everything looks really pretty! I’m just not looking forward to scraping the ice off of my bike. Ohhh the perils of Dutch life.

Cold Amsterdam

A bit of life at the moment in the Netherlands. Burrrrrrr!

Gearing up for Copenhagen and hopefully I’ll come back with my own images…for now these were found at a danish fashion blog, The Locals.

**And of course I had to give Nike Sportswear a shout out in the first image with the stocking cap**

For those of you who don’t live in the Netherlands, you my have heard that the Dutch like to use bikes for transportation. But what you may not know is that they really know how to transport ANYTHING on their bike. Be it dogs, children, tables, other bikes; you name it they can do it. That’s why I decided to take photos of all the different bikes I saw as John and I took a stroll through Vondelpark one afternoon in Amsterdam.

Levis is definitely back, but I don’t think these jeans will hold the bike lock needed in Amsterdam.

Vieux Carré Surroundings

Thanks to a tip from my besty in New York, John and I enjoyed seeing the Tennessee Williams play, Vieux Carré at the Holland Festival in Amsterdam…and it just so happened to be our two year anniversary as well.

So while we enjoyed the weather before the show, in Westergasfabriek, I snapped some photos of interesting things around us.

It seems that someone was terribly concerned that the bike racks would get chilly in the cold, so they were fitted with knitted warmers to keep them warm.

This is the small street, in Westergasfabriek, with cute cafes and theatres where we saw the show. It was so quiet and peaceful.

Really…you love the Flex Bar?
