Once a month there’s a giant flea market in Amsterdam North called, IJ-Hallen (check out the link to see just how giant of a market this is). When I was last there, I picked up these wonderful coffee cups from the 60/70s made in Bavaria. I think they will be great friends with my Marimekko tea pot, posted here.
A collection of some items left behind in Iowa, while although they are far away, they make quite a nice collage and are far from forgotten.
Top: Old Folgers Coffee tins received as a Christmas gift
Left: Puppy lamp I stole from my Mom’s stash to sell on ebay
Right: Various magazines from a garage sale years ago
Bottom Left: Vintage postcard found in London
Bottom Right: Dog figurine found in Waverly’s Trinkets and Togs
I just was in Iowa for a quick trip and a wedding but the best place to be in town is Cup of Joe!
I stole these images from the interweb so unfortunately I don’t know who these people are, but stop in next time you’re in Cedar Falls and enjoy Grandma’s furniture and some fresh brew.

Isn’t it great?
As the days are ticking down to our return to Iowa this summer, I’ve gathered all my Iowa memorabilia into one happy family! Corny the Cob was given to me by my aunt when her and my uncle visited the Netherlands last summer. Salt and pepper shakers were a gift from my grandmother not to forget my roots. And the mug was a wedding gift from our Dutch friend and personal Vicar, whom he found via someone he worked with. It says: “someone in Iowa loves you.” Who would have thought a Dutchy had an Iowa mug just sitting around at their house?! Well now it’s sitting at ours and one of my favorite coffee mugs.
