Sea Containers
Friday turned into a beautiful day/evening as the rain, which hadn’t stopped coming down since Tuesday, finally let up and the sunshine came out. So we headed over to NDSM wharf to Over het IJ theatre festival. I was surprised to find that all the theatre shows were going on inside old sea containers
What was so great was that each theatre show used the container in different ways. As you can see below this group is viewing the show from above, looking down into the container.
The Dutch seem to use sea containers a lot for different functionalties. If you walk further on NDSM wharf you’ll see an entire student housing apartment made out of sea containers stacked on top of each other. How great is that!?
